An unwitting passenger arriving at Japan's Narita airport has received 142g of cannabis after a customs test went awry, officials say.
A customs officer hid a package of the banned narcotic in a side pocket of a randomly chosen suitcase in order to test airport security.
Sniffer dogs failed to detect the cannabis and the officer could not remember which bag he had put it in.
Hah! that's great.
That official should lose his job.
You just can't put a random citizen at risk of a prison term because you want to "improve" the test for the drug dogs. Now there is someone walking around with a suitcase that will smell of pot even after it is taken out. What happens when they come back to the airport to fly home or away on business?
Well... if that particular dog is on duty, he'll walk straight through again....
Until they get to their destination and the dog there is a bit more on track.
"Hello, Bob?"
"Yeah"
"It worked, turn in the 142 and keep the pound. See you at the party."
Lucky passenger.
LOL! As a routine traveler, I routinely deface my luggage with marker to make it stand out. What should I write on the side to memorialize this event?
Voluntary Contraband Test Suitcase
Midnight Express revisited....
Nothing can escape the long arm of the law... ohh.. wait
That one bag is going to spawn into 1000, as everyone arrested for carrying weed during the next 2 weeks is going to claim to be "that guy".
Good point. When law enforcement admits to planting dope on people that's like the Golden Ticket.
Just remember only to ship in quantities of 142 grammes from now on folks!
Someone tell that guy to give me a call. There's free pizza in it for him.
Paging the passenger with a bag of weed in his suitcase...Please report to Airport Security.
"Excuse me sir, can you please show me your papers..."
he's probably getting strip searched and abused as we speak
