Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

in that country, even the iPhone 3G features an extra-loud anti-upskirt alarm.

A true 'Smart-Phone' would have pattern-recognition software to spot what it's camera was being used for. Then a 'chirp' alarm yelling out 'Creep Alarm, Creep Alarm!'

Then for punishment those caught are forced to wear a Kilt in public.......on a polished floor.

The upskirt photography is now a viable phenomenon thanks to Ms. Britney Spears and her shaved nether region, which was recorded for posterity in a shot heard round the world.

Sharon Stone may've been the pioneer of the quick flash in "Basic Instict," even as she disingenuously insisted she had no idea that the camera was aimed there.

Now paparazzi know that they'll earn top dollar for a money shot.

It's lamentable, but it's a sign of the times.

Bit of a difference though in your comparisons.

Spears is a professional, in an industry that specializes in 'image' and 'publicity', and has an expectation that cameras are going to be pointed at her whenever she goes out in public. She either knew, or should have expected cameras, and she either wanted, or should have known that she was revealing herself in climbing out of a low-slung car with a very short skirt and no panties.

That's not true with Jane Doe in the mall or park, who's standing upright and not flashing herself intentionally. The 'upskirters' are acting in a very deliberate way to violate her privacy in covertly placing a camera in a low and hidden position.

Spears 'wares' were out in the open for public view, but not with Jane.
