This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

He might have got there much quicker if his neighbours had lent a hand though....

The motives attributed to him are odd, 14 years digging a tunnel so bandits might not steal his truck? Those are some really slow bandits. And it takes 7000m to bypass a 10m obstacle?

But best of all was the villagers unwilling to help but happy to take advantage of his efforts. He should charge a tunnel toll.

The bandits were waiting all this time. Now they can rob his house, load all the stuff onto the truck and make off with it all too!

:-)

I have to wonder if they could have just moved the town.

Also have to wonder how he shored up the tunnel. The other man took 22 years to do same. His must have been smaller :)

Wonders how many chisels he went through?

I was thinking about the movie The Shawshank Redemption ... where he tunnelled out with a very worn down rock hammer....

I commend him for his perseverance.

I do hope the tunnel is safe. I wouldn't want a tragic cave-in after all that effort.

He should have claimed he saw Osama BinLaden nearby and the U.S. Military would have dug it for him...

Well on the last comment , the US military if they though it was worth the trouble to get to OSAMA, they would blow up the mountain and level it

preserverance - had to add to that...and forgiving since supposedly no one else helped him but made use of the tunnel after it was built
