Did the federal government pay a monthly salary for a prostitute in Kabul?
The Washington Post reports that Blackwater, the private mercenary army that's won over a billion dollars in US government contracts since 2002, has allegedly been charging the feds for the services of a Filipina prostitute in Afghanistan, according to court documents that were released earlier this week. Two former employees of the security firm--which actually changed its name rather mysteriously to Xe LLC last year--allege that the company also billed the government for strippers and parties.
Melan Davis, a former Blackwater payroll employee, says that the prostitute was hired to work in Afghanistan, and that the firm charged the government by listing her as "morale welfare recreation."
