This seems to be good news for many who enjoy eating peanuts!

And color me unsurprised about the result. While there are plenty of people with life-threatening food allergies (I roomed with a guy with one to tree nuts who did in fact end up in the ER with anaphylaxis,) it is also easier for someone to be declared "allergic" and then his coddling parents will try to defend him from any exposure at all, when in fact long time low level exposure to allergens is one of the ways to moderate, or even remove mild allergies.

Some sort of balance needs to be found, but considering the all-too understandable hysterical reaction of parents when they hear their child has a mild food allergy and should avoid the substance in question, I doubt it will ever be found.

I wonder if these parents would be for the spraying of DDT near their child's school if the child was diagnosed with an allergy to bee stings?
