A CROOK was nabbed by cops after a man in gorilla suit tripped him up and sent him flying.

Andy Ingham was handing out bananas and leaflets to promote his gym when he saw a female police officer chasing a man.

Andy said: "She tried to arrest him as he ran at her but he grabbed her and slammed her into a bridge."

Andy, the boss of Fit4Less Gym, said the crook looked "terrified" when he saw a hulking gorilla step out and trip him up.

He said: "If I hadn't had the suit on I would have rugby-tackled him, but I also had my hands full with bananas and free passes to the gym, so as he came towards me I jumped out at him.
