An elderly driver who knocked down and killed his wife in a supermarket car park has blamed his Toyota Prius for the incident.
William Hippsley, 74, claims his car shot forward and pulled his wife Brenda underneath while she was directing him into a car space.
The retired chartered surveyor - who denies a charge of causing death by careless driving - then dragged the 69-year-old 130ft through a Tesco car park at Biggs, Lincs.
