A FAMOUS photograph taken 15 years ago in which a ghostly schoolgirl peers out of an inferno appears to have been debunked as a fake.

Amateur photographer Tony O'Rahilly took the snap while photographing a blaze which destroyed Wem Town Hall in Shropshire on November 19, 1995.

But recent investigations seem to suggest the girl's image was lifted from a POSTCARD which appeared in a local paper.
