That's fine, just leave repeat offenders in prison for the rest of their lives !!!

I'm not sure how German law works (if this is the punishment for first offenses, it might be a bit much), but I personally have no problem with the castration of repeat sexual offenders, especially if their crimes involve children !!!

I'm not sure how German law works...

Read the article: "Germany offers sex offenders aged over 25 the option of surgical castration or orchiectomy, if the operation is cleared by an expert, the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) said in a report.

The practice is rare, noted the committee after a visit to Germany in 2010, with less than five cases a year in the last decade."

The offender is given the choice of having the procedure or not and not many go for it.

Maria, fully agreed.

Unfortunately, the court is one-sided in terms of physical harm toward the sex offender. Well, in this case, he should be mandated to accept a chemical castration that is also possible.

Else, the only means of not-reoffending would be locking him up forever which is now impossible for German justice because this means has to be applied with the verdict and not during term-serving, retroactively.

warning that the operation could amount to "degrading treatment."

And the crimes that make them sex offenders is not degrading their victims?
Up until the beginning of the 20th century, sex offenders were routinely castrated in a number of states with int he USA. I say bring back the practice.
