Jayne and William Hares woke to find a colony of baby pipistrelles clinging to the wallpaper and curtains.
The 14 inch-long pups had been roosting in the loft of the couple’s house for two weeks but moved downstairs through a gap in the door when it got too hot for them.
Mrs Hares, 51, said: ‘We live in a house where our living room is upstairs and you access the loft by walking through a door on the same level.
'I had left the door open because it was so hot and in the morning when we went in the lounge the wall was covered in bats.
