A father sparked a security alert at Stansted Airport after the birthday cake he was carrying for his son tested positive for explosives.
Justin Barrett tucked the Sainsbury’s Wiggles the Caterpillar chocolate cake in his hand luggage as a surprise treat for his son Freddie’s ninth birthday.
The 41-year-old was on his way to Alicante in Spain to join wife Kathryn and their three children - who had all flown out a week earlier - when he was stopped by security guards at the airport.
Mr Barrett, of Meopham, Kent, said he was pulled to one side by guards and interrogated after the cake showed up as 'suspicious' on the X-Ray machine.
